Censorship in Context

Over the past year, the issue of content moderation has drawn increased attention, resulting in more visible public debate over the role companies play in regulating speech.

A year after its launch, Onlinecensorship.org seeks to contribute to this debate by asking users who have had their content censored by social media platforms to describe their experiences. In this, our second report, we focus on providing insight from our user reports to develop a concrete accountability framework for social media content moderation.

Onlinecensorship.org is a collaboration between the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and Visualizing Impact (VI).
